Kayak

in the Churchill River where beluga whales will seek you out and swim by for a closer look.  This is not a long expedition and novice paddlers are welcome.  A zodiac boat with an experienced driver will accompany you.  The driver will provide initial safety instructions and the zodiac will stay close incase the weather suddenly changes or a kayaker tires before reaching shore.    Wear comfortable clothing, we can provide waterproof outerwear and the required Personal Flotation Device.

 The transparent kayaks are a great experience if the water is clear and the whales are close.  These canoe/kayak hybrids are slower than the regular kayaks, wetter and less comfortable to paddle, but the amazing experience of seeing beluga whales beneath you is the payoff.

 Our kayak tours require calm water conditions so this is the most weather dependent activity for whale watching.  We also kayak during the slackest tide times when paddling is less difficult.
