Beluga Whale Season2000 to 3000 beluga whales visit the Churchill River Estuary every summer. These friendly, vocal and highly intelligent mammals are a joy to observe and Churchill has the best beluga whale watching in the world. A sub-arctic summer is a short intense period with a great variety of flowering vegetation and even some summer polar bears, forced ashore by the melting Hudson Bay ice. There's lots to do and see in the summer. Boat Tours: Go whale watching by tour boat (Beluga & Fort Tour), zodiac charter or kayak tour. Snorkeling with an arctic wet suit is another option.
