Transportation LinksThere are two airlines that fly from Winnipeg to Churchill The best fares require that you book in advance and stay over a Saturday. If time allows keep an eye on their web sites for seat sales. Via Rail's passenger train travels from Winnipeg to Thompson to Churchill. This two night trip gives you a leisurely opportunity to see Northern Manitoba. Bedrooms, sleepers and roomettes are available. On a budget? Take a Greyhound bus or drive with family and friends to Thompson, Manitoba. You can leave your vehicle at McCreedy Park (204-778-8810) and then take the over night Via Rail train to Churchill which leaves at 5:55 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Sleepers are available but many passengers travel coach for added savings. You will have come a long way so we strongly recommend that you spend 2 to 3 days to see and enjoy everything that Churchill has to offer. However if you choose to visit for the day make your tour arrangements in advance and come with a flexible attitude since train, tide and weather don't always cooperate. In the summer the passenger train may be on slow orders and arrive quite late. |
